Dr. Kokaram was presented with a Scientific and Engineering Award at a ceremony held in Beverly Hills, California, on February 10. He received the award* for "the design and development of the Furnace integrated suite of software tools that robustly utilizes temporal coherence for enhancing visual effects in motion picture sequences". *Not actually an Oscar, although it is possible to win an Oscar statuette (i.e. an Academy Award of Merit) in the Scientific and Technical field. To do so is to receive the highest honour the Academy bestows in recognition of outstanding technological achievements related to the arts and sciences of motion pictures.↵
